Our Plea

Jesus intended to establish one church, which practiced one faith, believing one God, and preaching one hope (Ephesians 4:3-6). However, the intention of Christ has been disregarded seeing that there are hundreds of different religious groups which designate themselves by different names, creeds, governments, and practices. Before Protestantism and long before Catholicism, there was the church that Jesus built; the church we read about in the New Testament of the Holy Scriptures (Matthew 16:18; Romans 16:16). Before there were creeds and long before there were traditions, there was the Bible! Our plea is for religious unity, however, not at the cost of a perverted Gospel, but by the relinquishment of man-made teachings for New Testament Christianity! “The Bible our only guide; the Bible we must rightly divide!”

What We Believe

The New Testament is clear that one must obey the gospel (Romans 10:16; 2 Thessalonians 1:7; 1 Peter 4:17).  This occurs through obeying the commands to:

1) Hear – the cross of Christ and his passion
1 Cor 1:17-18; Acts 1:3

2) Believe – God raised Him from the dead
Rom 10:9; Heb. 11:6

3) Repent – turn from the vanities of sinful life
Acts 14:15; Acts 26:20

4) Confess – with the mouth the Son of God
Acts 8:37; Rom 10:9

5) Baptism – water immersion remitting sin
1 Pet 3:21; Acts 22:16

What We Practice

The New testament is also clear that the church (Romans 16:16; Matthew 16:18) must stay steadfast in the apostles’ doctrine (Acts 2:42). This includes our requirement to worship in spirit and truth (John 4:24). Our assembly on every Lord's Day (Revelation 1:10) offers the collective spiritual sacrifices (1 Peter 2:5) of:

1) Prayer led by men – (1 Timothy 2:8; 1 Corinthians 14:15)

2) Singing without mechanical instruments or any other addition – (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16)

3) Giving monetarily – (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 9:6-8)

4) Partaking of the Lord's supper – (1 Corinthians 10:16; Acts 20:7)

5) Preaching the gospel of Christ – (Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 1:17-18)
